Kieran McLoughlin has been named Restaurant Manager of the Year 2018 by the Academy of Food and Wine Service.
The result was announced at an awards evening held at the Royal Garden Hotel, in London.
Accepting the honour McLoughlin said: “I’m delighted to be announced as the Academy of Food and Wine Service’s Restauant Manager of the Year.
”The competition was very tough and represented the creme-de-la-creme of the industry and I’m very proud to be mentioned in the same breath as the other finalists.”
Chair of judges John Cousins of the Food and Beverage Training Centre said: “Our future is secure if we have people like that in the industry.”
Competing for the accolade finalists were interviewed by industry professionals before taking part in a Restaurant Management Skills scenario in front of a VIP audience.
The finalists were: Kieran McLoughlin of Gravetye Manor Hotel, Nick Emmott of English’s of Brighton, Rebecca Galland of The Vineyard Hotel and Jennifer Saunter of Lecture Room and Library Sketch.
